REGRET by Kate Chopin

  • The title is interesting and VERY appealing because Regret is a word that usually creates an environment of suspense and sort of action
  • In the story, it talks about a woman, identified as Mamzelle Aurelie who decides to not really care about men or is isolated from marriage and love. She then takes care of four children because of the mother Odile had to go see her ill mother. She adapted to the environment of children, loud noises, and love. When Odile came for her children and left her Mamzelle became aware of how lonely she was. She had a feeling of regret because she didn't have children or love affection. She could've experienced love but because she didn't, she's now miserable
  • People need to live without regret and live life to the fullest
  • After reading this story I felt like I shouldn't doubt the decisions I make in life generally speaking, not necessarily talking about love, YET.
  • Yes, I recommend this story because it's a story that can inspire people.
